Dolls & Playsets

I have always had a passion for dolls and fashion! When I was in kindergarten, I used to always say I would grow up to be a fashion designer. And I still strive to achieve those childhood dreams today! My ultimate goal is to be able to work at Mattel or MGA and work on one of their major fashion doll lines.

I also love to create play sets with original characters, usually featuring adorable animals! The Fisher Price play sets was one of my favorite toys to play with as a young girl, with all of its hidden nooks and crannies with detailed decos and themed buildings or rooms. It is certainly one of my favorite types of toys to conceptualize. I hope to learn and grow with every new opportunity that comes my way, so that I can become better and better at creating and doing what I love!

Doll Line Project
Freshman Year - 2022

In my first ever Toy Design course- an elective my freshman year- we were given a project to create a doll line with an original feature and story concept. I was deeply inspired by environmentalist messaging, naturalism, and the whimsical fantasy world of Pixie Hollow!

I came up with the concept for "Etherealites"- a combination of the words "ethereal" and "lights." The dolls are 11.5" with a blind bag wing light-up feature. There's an element of surprise for what wing shape you end up getting, as well as the magic of seeing them light up for the first time!
This concept has a very unifying thru-line of environmentalism, and teaching young kids the beauty and importance of nature on Earth- no matter where or what it looks like! I wanted to represent many biomes from around the world so kids could recognize the plants and environments, and relate it back to themselves. For further line expansion, I would add more biomes seeing as the Earth is incredibly rich in diverse flora.

I created the original concept "Vampirettes" as a fashion doll line with a DIY baking squishy-toy feature! I was inspired by Lolita and Goth alternative fashion, and cute Parisian bakeries!
Following market trends of squishy fidget toys and story-based DIY play, I wanted this line to be fun and unique and something that young kids and older tweens would love!

3d playset project
Junior Year - 2024

This is a 3D model I made of a playset I created for an original character I designed for my Portfolio Development class. He is a panda named PJ! He's a cool, laid-back dude who loves to skateboard around the city with this gang of friends. He wants to learn how to do street graffiti, and so far he has his own tag- 'PJ!'- that he throws up all over town.
I wanted to push myself to do something more out of my comfort zone: outside of the realm of the ultra-feminine and pink and glittery. I aimed to focus on cohesive stylization inspired by early 2000's Frutiger metro graphic design, with a little bit of a geometric edge.
For my final, I composed an entire reel showing off my final rendered model using Adobe After Effects, which is the video shown above.
